Must be an individual who self-identifies as Black or African-American, This program is a Special Purpose Credit Program (SPCP). Check guidelines for eligibility criteria.

$40,000 grant that requires no repayment.

Participating Lenders

Participating Lender Any mortgage providing institution that:
Has the ability to provide Grantees with additional down payment grant assistance equal to at least $9,000, provided the Grantee meets the independent criteria of
payment assistance grant, and Intends to provide the mortgage loan for Grantee to complete the purchase and transaction, and
Executes a Participating Lender Memorandum of Understanding.

Approved Education Providers

You have completed homebuyer education from a HUD-certified provider.

You may complete HBE online as long as it is a HUD-certified provider. The Urban League and Participating Lenders can refer you to their preferred online provider.

Pre purchase counseling must be completed with a representative from HUD-certified counseling agency. All completions/materials must be filed with the Urban League of San Diego County.
